leverage shrug

The Leverage shrug is an upper-body exercise targeting the traps (trapezius muscles) using a specialised shrug machine. It is usually performed for moderate to high reps, such as 8-12 reps per set or more, as part of shoulder or trap-focused training.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
  1. Stand inside the machine and with a firm grip, grasp the holding grips evenly on both sides.
  2. With your core tight, raise the weight upwards allowing the machine to control the path of the movement
  3. Squeeze your shoulder blades together as if you were trying to break a walnut between them.
  4. Pause for a brief moment as you squeeze. The slowly bring your shoulders back down to the starting position.
